| Customer Reviews:
Best sunglasses ever May 9, 2008 Robert Cameron (Oceanside, CA United States) This is my second pair of Serengetis and I can't recommend them enough. At first I was a little worried about buying these -- I thought my first pair was already perfect and didn't want to end up disappointed. The first pair have the standard Serengeti glass lens but the same tint (these are a plastic [polycarbinate] lens). I was looking forward to them being lighter, but was worried that the tint would be different than the glass and that I wouldn't like it nearly as much. (I've tried several different driver's tint sunglasses and the Serengetis have had the best tint.) As soon as I put them on the first time I was extremely glad I picked them. I like the tint even better than the glass lenses in my first pair (the glass seemed a little more yellowish). They're a lot lighter and extremely comfortable. There are no pressure points on the nose or over the ears, you can't even tell you're wearing them. Luckily I haven't dropped them yet, so I don't know how scratch resistant the lenses are. Taking them on and off while outside makes an unbelievable difference in the view around you -- much less hazy and harsh (driver's tint cuts down on the amount of blue light coming through, the wavelengths that are most annoying to our eyes). These lenses are also polarized which I'd consider another must-have. Polarized lenses cut down on reflected light, so you don't see things like the reflection of your dash in the windshield, or a lot of the glare coming off the road. Greens are bright and saturated and the sky is a beautiful dark blue (thanks again to polarization). Plus these things just look nice. They're the perfect shape for my face and are the best looking glasses I've owned. The lenses have a very very slight mirroring on them, but for the most part people can see your eyes through them (so don't think you can stare at someone without them realizing where you're looking). ;)
