Not Polarized December 15, 2008 Susan E. Oneil (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased these sunglasses for my son for Christmas. He wanted them for skiing and sailing, so the polarized lense is important. When I received them I realized they were NOT Polarized as advertised. I am sure they are great glasses but when you are looking specifically for polarized glasses and you think that is what you are getting it is very disapointing to find out they are not. Amazon needs to correct the description of these glasses.
Great pair of shades January 13, 2008 Elizabeth W. Mccollum (Dublin, OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband really loves these Oakleys and he had to have a pair because my son has them. They fit very well and make him feel cool. They came with the black pouch to keep them from getting scratched when they are in your glove compartment.
the package didn't arrive March 11, 2007 Jose Luis Fernandez 0 out of 12 found this review helpful
the provider did not request signature, so they left the package in front of the door and the package was lost. So bad, affortunately Amazon redeem my money. regards, JL
The reliable Oakley XLJ Half December 3, 2005 Mark S. Pasignajen (Chicago, IL. USA) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
I purchased the XLJs (over the standard half) b/c they feature a rectangular lens as opposed to the ovascular halves. As you know, the general guideline is rectangular lens for oval faces, and visa versa. PROS: -The XLJs have a snug yet comfortable fit; they don't bounce around like other $$$ sports sunglasses. -The XLJs have an interchangable len system. Thus there is no need to purchase separate sunglasses for each active activity. -Lenses come in polarized and non-polarized/easily available ib stores/online. -Lenses are easy to change and snap right in. -The area the lens covers is "just right", not too much (Darth Vader-ish), not undersized to let any light in (John Lennon). -If you study sports sunglasses (particularly running/cycling), the XLJs models are simple with clean steamlined features. Meaning, your purchase won't go out of style for at least 3-4 years. Kinda classic/simple sportscar-ish. -Frames are very durable. Not indestructive but a lot of bending and give, yet transforms back to normal form. Have a salesperson demonstrate this at the store. This sold me. CONS: -the socket screws are more than 1/2 cm in, making them difficult to tighten if need be. However, after 3 months mine are perfectly fine. TIP: Both Oakley Half Jackets (regular and XLJ) can fit in a separately purchased protective case...hard enough for the school or gymbag and has enough room for 4 pairs of lenses. 4 1/2 stars Mark Pasignajen Illinois
